Dev Log: Update v0.15
Most of the attention on this update was for extending inventory content and improving visuals. This includes adding new hats and helmets, new shields and crafting tools, as well as new hairstyles and the ability to change clothing colors and fabric patterns in the game.
As always, please Wish List the game on Steam. It really helps! :)

Recent Changes
Inventory Content
- Added some new Hats and Helmets (Derby, Top Hat, Archer Cap, Poor Boy Hat, Pork Pie Hat, Straw Hat and Great Helm)
- Added all new Shields to the game that help increase armor rating (Wooden Round & Square & Steel Round, Square and Kite)
- Add all new Crafting Tools to the game that double as light-weight weapons (Hammer, Hatchet and Pickaxe)
- Note: Crafting Tools are still not able to perform crafting actions such as chopping wood, cutting rock or general carpentry. (Coming soon though!)
Character Aesthetics
- Added new Hairstyles to the game. (Razor, Afros, Dreads, Sideswept, Viking, Samurai, Fauxhawk, Flattop and Bald Crown)
- Slight improvements on all old hairstyles
- Added in-game ability to change character's clothing within the camp by clicking on the tent. (This will likely change in the future)
- New Clothing Fabric Patterns (Linen, Leather, Chainmail, Ringmail, Scalemail, and Exotic patterns like Tiger, Zebra, Leopard, Alligator, Snakeskin, and more!)
- Note: Changing Clothing Patterns does not currently affect the character's abilities or armor rating. (This could also change in the future)
Miscellaneous & Bug Fixes
- When talking to Quest Givers the Zoom feature does not prevent you from focusing on the NPC (There was a problem when zooming out previously)
- When opening a Merchant's Inventory, the header now properly displays the type of Merchant that you are viewing. (It previously said "General Merchant" for all)
- When using the Reload button to reload the scene, it correctly saves all progress when in the World scene.
- Merchants now always offer at least 1 item for sale (No more empty Merchant inventories)
- Merchant Inventory is now organized by showing all items of the same type (for example, all headwear, or footwear, or leggings) then sorted alphabetically. (In the near future.. I might offer sorting options for the player to decide how to organize Merchant's inventory)
- Inventory makes appropriate sound effects when moving from one place to another or when Using an item.
What's Next?
I never got around to designing different types of weapons, such as two-handed polearms, or ranged weapons, so I think i will start this next update by at least attempting to get those features in the game next.
That alone might prove to be a lot of work, but hey! I have a variety of other ideas for updates too. They include;
- Upgrade Sockets in Weapons & Armor (similar to Diablo)
- Ability to cut down trees and break down rocks using Hatchet and Pickaxe.
- Visual enhancements for Bushes, Shrubs, Vines, and other outdoor vegetation. I'd like to add Berries to bushes too!
- More items to be grabbed such as straw (hay), useless tools (pitchfork, shovel, rake, etc), twigs, small rocks, branches, wood, berries, plant fibre, and so on.
- More consumable options, including foods that require cooking or preparation, which you cannot buy in stores. as well as more options for natural ingredients, and places to find them.
- Ability to purchase a plot of land for the purpose of building a home. (The demo currently grants you a plot of land where your tent already exists, but you should be able to relocate if you want to spend more money on setting up your home in a different area, or otherwise upgrade some of the features of your campsite to demonstrate the home upgrade concepts)
- Environment Save File System. With the new ability to Chop Wood, Cut Rocks, Relocate & Upgrade your Campsite, I'll need to further enhance the save system to accommodate changes to the environment.
- Upgraded Item Save File System. With the invent of new Socketed Items, I'll need to come up with a system for saving all upgraded weapons and armor stats for each uniquely upgraded item in the game.
- New Books that allow a character to permanently increase attributes. This will also require a File System for saving character's upgraded attributes too.
